Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update: Weekend 4/5.04.20

Only patients with booked appointments are allowed to enter Green Lane Medical Cantre.
DO NOT come to surgery without a prior appointment, you will not be seen.

TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT:

Call the surgery on 0151 228 9101, medical queries will be handled by a clinician. Please note we are no longer offering an extended hours service.

Only medical emergencies will be seen at the surgery. On Government advice, all routine appointments have been cancelled.

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS:

To minimise risk we are encouraging all patients to use our online prescription service. We have now suspended the previous requirement for you to attend surgery to in order to register for electronic prescriptions. Please call surgery on 0151 228  9101 and we shall issue you with the necessary code.

Smartphone users can choose to download the NHS app. This app can be used to book appointments, order repeat prescriptions and view your medical record summary. Verification is online and requires a photographic id (driver’s license or passport)

If you are unable to use online services you may post your request in the box outside Surgery.

Are you over 70, terminally ill, registered as housebound, or have other valid reasons why you cannot get your essential medicine?
Then please call us on 0151 228 9101 as we should be able to take your repeat prescription over the phone.

SERVICES CURRENTLY AVAILABLE:

We are continuing to offer the following services. Please note that we are prioritising the vulnerable. 

  • Immunisations for children eg: 8, 12 and 16 week infants
  • MMR, pneumococcal, and whooping cough (for pregnant women) vaccinations if required
  • B12 injections (if newly diagnosed)
  • Zoladex injections (for our cancer patients)
  • Antenatal appointments (for pregnant women) on Tuesday mornings

STATUTORY SICK PAY / FIT NOTES:

You do not need to get a fit note from your GP. This letter is evidence, for your employer, to show that you cannot work outside the home. If you need help from the benefit system visit www.gov.uk/universal-credit

If you are an employee and need to claim Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) from your employer, please use form SC2 which you may complete online via the HMRC website.

IF YOU SUSPECT YOU HAVE CORONAVIRUS:

STAY AT HOME for 7 days if you have either:

  • a high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
  • a new, continuous cough – this means you've started coughing repeatedly
  • DO NOT go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital


Use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service only if:

  • you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home
  • your condition gets worse
  • your symptoms do not get better after 7 days
  • Only call 111 if you cannot get help online.
